CANADA WIDE RECALL ON DIABETES MEDICATION THAT MAY CAUSE CANCER

If the deadly corona virus wasn’t enough to scare you, a diabetes medicine is going around that may be causing people cancer. According to CTV News, Health Canada has just expanded a national recall for a product of diabetes medication because of an impurity in the drug, which is possibly linked to cancer. The recall was sent out on Wednesday, and is for a specific prescription drug that contains metformin. This medicine is used by people who suffer from Type 2 diabetes, and helps them to control their blood sugar levels. Officials say that at least six lots of the drug called RAN-Metformin, (sold by Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals Canada Inc.) have been recalled.
