St. Louis, Missouri rapper Akon announced that he has finished the paper work and is now officially going to have his own city in Senegal, West Africa. According to Complex, the Konvict Muzik CEO made a post via Instagram, showing the final moments of the deal and told his fans, “was looking forward to hosting you in the future.” Akon has been talking about this project since back in December, where he discussed his plans with host Nick Cannon. “It’s a 10-year building block so we’re doing it in stages,” he told Cannon. “We started construction in March and stage two is going to be 2025.” The rappers plans were to build a climate-conscious village up with a tourism company called SAPCO. It was only 6 years ago when Akon launched his project to install solar street lights and small energy systems in Africa.
