It looks like Ford was not able to come to an agreement with the teachers, after Global news has confirmed that Ontario’s four largest education unions will be going on strike. The strike is said to take place on Friday Feb. 21, and will cause the public education system in Ontario to shut down. The decision was made at an event held in Toronto, which had Education Minister Stephen Lecce in attendance along with the education unions. The meeting that was held at the Royal York Hotel took place while hundreds of teachers marched just outside the building, signs held high above their heads as they shouted out their demands. According to Global, the four unions make up roughly 200,00 teachers and over 5,000 different public schools, which will affect over 2 million students. Ford is going to have to make some moves fast, before he has not only the teachers after him, but also the angry parents of the students who are paying taxes for their kids to be in school.
