ARE YOU LOOKING FOR BETTER PAYING TRADE WORK IN CANADA?

Are you a Canadian currently looking for a better paying job in the trades? Recent reports from CBC Toronto say that right now Canada is looking for over 167,000 new apprentices over the next 5 years. As thousands of Canadians find well-paying jobs each year, the variety and range of those opportunities can sometimes be poorly understood by people and potential trade workers. “We know there is now more people leaving than entering the workforce, and especially for the trades this is going to become critical,” said AndrĂ© Lebel of Statistics Canada. A recently-done study by Statistics Canada in collaboration with the Canadian Appreciation Forum, shows that Canada needs 167,739 new apprentices over the next 5 years just to keep up with current demands. The data says that in 2018, trades that were paying the highest after a four year certification program were heavy duty equipment operators (average annual salary of $107,220) and steamfitter-pipefitters who made an average annual salary of $105,620.
