According to a privacy lawyer in Nova Scotia, if you or anyone you know has received a piece of mail registered for a movie studio looking to sue you for illegally downloading TV show such as “Game of Thrones” you need to take it very seriously. The movie studio if ignored, can get a default judgement and can go for the maximum of $5,000 told David Fraser to CBC Radio’s “Mainstream” on Tuesday. Fraser also told CBC that studios have been cracking down on people illegally downloading shows and movies by targeting suspects by sending notices to their internet providers. Under the “Canadian Copyright Modernization Act” internet service providers have to by law track the IP addresses of users who are illegally downloading BitTorrent and other TV and movie streaming devices……….STREAMERS BE WARNED!!
