Well Cardi B is no stranger to criticism throughout her career, from her former pole dancing days to her beef with fellow rap superstar Nicki Minaj, to now people saying she isn’t black because she speaks Spanish and identified as Latina in the past. Back in 2018 Cardi responded to the accusations, claiming that she was Latinidad. “When my father taught me that these Europeans took over our lands,” then said “That’s why we all speak different languages. I expect people to understand that just because we’re not African American, we are still black. It’s still in our culture.” Recently Cardi has again responded to the trolls during an Instagram Live session on Tuesday, where according to Complex she spoke on how she has been mistaken as Mexican just because she speaks Spanish. “I’m not Mexican at all. I’m West Indian and I’m Dominican. I speak Spanish because I’m Dominican,” Cardi told viewers. “And it’s like, ‘so what’s the difference between Dominican and Mexican?
