The city of Hamilton has confirmed that it will be launching investigation into a former white supremacist leader who has been on the city’s payroll for years. The city’s First African American councillor, Mathew Green, says he felt betrayed and threatened by the city’s employment of Marc Lemire, a former Heritage Front leader, who happens to be a head guy for Hamilton’s It department. So far, Lemire is denying all accusations and saying there is no evidence of any wrong doing in his work for the city. Executive director for the city’s human resources department Lara Fontana, has put out a statement on Thursday claiming, “It is important that we take a measured approach to the investigation to ensure we gain a deeper understanding of the situation, determine facts, and remain respectful of all concerns and parties throughout the process.”
