While attending the Berklee College of Music’s commencement on Friday (May 10), musical icons Missy Elliot and Justin Timberlake received honorary doctorates along with composer Alex Lancamoire. The artists were honored for their “influences in music, and for their enduring global impact,” according to E! News reports. After receiving their degrees, both Missy and JT took to their instagram accounts to share their enthusiasm with fans. Elliot even posted a video of her in her cap and gown, holding her brand new framed diploma with the caption, “CREATE YOUR OWN LANE,” finishing with, “Sincerely, Dr. Missy Elliot.”
