Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is facing some serious backlash after photos were leaked to the web, where he can be seen dressed up in an Aladdin themed outfit, while wearing brown make up over his face. The Liberal Party leader is seen in the photo also sporting a turban on his head, in which he claims he had on to attend a gala at a high school 18 years ago. According to CBC news, Trudeau has now told the public that it was a racist thing to do, and that he is “deeply sorry,” before admitting that this was not his first time dressing up in such a manner. “When I was in high school I dressed up at a talent show and sang Day O with makeup on,” Justin told reporters. “I take responsibility for my decision to do that. I shouldn’t have done it. I should have known better. It was something that I didn’t think was racist at the time, but now I recognize it was something racist to do and I am deeply sorry.” It’s safe to say that these photos will not be helping Justin Trudeau during the upcoming elections.
