TYLER THE CREATOR TOPS DJ KHALED WITH ‘IGOR’ FOR N0.1 ALBUM

DJ Khaled and Tyler the Creator go head-to-head over the number one album spot on Billboard’s Top 200 with the release of Father of Asahd and Tyler’s ‘IGOR,’ as both were realised on the same day of last week. After one week of letting the fans get to enjoy both projects, the numbers are in and have spoken. IGOR has debuted at number one spot with 165,000 in sales, with Khaled’s Father of Asahd following at number 2 spot with 136,000. With todays music industry relying heavily on internet sales, IGOR was able to rack up 122.9 million in streaming revenue, while still selling 74,000 traditional albums. Although Tyler is no stranger to the top 200 list, this will be his first time securing the top spot, after barely losing to Lana Del Ray’s Lust For Life back in 2017, According to Hip Hop By The Numbers, Tyler the Creator is the first ever solo rapper to reach the number 1 Billboard spot after completely mixing and producing their own album.
